Abstract Presentation FAQ
GENERAL INFORMATION
Can changes be made after submission?
Submitters may make changes to their submissions up until the submission deadline. No changes may be made after the abstracts have been reviewed.
Can I update an author (presenting v. non-presenting)?
Presenting author changes can be made until the day before the meeting. These changes will only be made in our app. No changes will be made to any published document, including the journal. Non-presenting author edits cannot be made.
All changes after the submission deadline should be emailed to ahshq@talley.com with the abstract's tracking number and specifics. The presenting author and last author must be cc’d on all change emails.
Can I change the time or date of my presentation?
No. All times, dates, and presentation types (oral or poster) are final and cannot be changed. If you cannot attend the date or time of the presentation, we recommend seeing if a co-author or colleague can present the abstract in your place. Please send the new presenter’s information to ahshq@talley.com along with the tracking number of the abstract.
Is There a Discount for Presenting Authors?
Presenting authors can take advantage of a discounted registration rate until May 14. Please access the Speaker Management Portal or Poster Collection Portal, sent in your acceptance email, and look for the “Registration” task to claim your discount.
How Do I Book My Hotel Room?
After you register, you will receive a link to book a hotel room in your registration confirmation email. The hotel cut-off is Wednesday, May 22 or until the block sells out, whichever comes first.
ORAL
We ask you to keep your presentation to 9 minutes long (about 1 minute per slide). You will then have 1 additional minute for Q&A for a total of 10 minutes.
Please access the speaker management portal for additional information including faculty guidelines and task deadlines.
DATA BLITZ
The Data Blitz presentations will feature an 8-minute "rocket" presentation at the Hot Topics in Basic Science Symposium on Saturday, June 21, 2025. We ask you to keep your presentation to 7 minutes long (about 1 minute per slide). You will then have 1 additional minute for Q&A.
Please access the speaker management portal for additional information including faculty guidelines and task deadlines.
POSTERS
Congratulations to those abstracts accepted as posters! We know this is an exciting time and that you may have questions. Please read the FAQ’s below:
Where Can I Access My Poster Number?
Look for the email sent to you when you accepted your poster. You may also access it within the poster portal. If you still can’t find it, please email ahshq@talley.com.
When Can I Hang My Poster/When Does It Have to Come Down?
Even Numbered Posters (i.e., P-100, P102, P-104) should be hung on the assigned board between 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm on Thursday, June 19 and removed by 1:30 pm on Friday, June 20. Posters left after 1:30 pm may be discarded.
ODD Numbered Posters (i.e., P-101, P-103, P-105) should be hung on the assigned board between 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm on Friday, June 20 and removed by 1:30 pm on Saturday, June 21. Posters left after 1:30 pm may be discarded.
When Should I be at my Poster for the Q&A Session?
Poster presenters with an EVEN poster number should be available at their poster between 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm on Thursday, June 19 (during the Welcome Reception). Poster presenters with an ODD poster number should be available between 5:00 pm – 6:15 pm on Friday, June 20 (during the Happy Hour).
Please note these times are scheduled during the receptions for maximum attendee participation. You are not required to stand with your poster, but it is a great opportunity to interact with attendees and answer their questions.
How Do I Accept My Invitation to Present a Poster?
Yes, please follow the steps in the email you (the presenting author) received. This way we know how many poster boards to have in the room. If you are unsure if your poster has been accepted, please email: ahshq@talley.com.
Are Presenting Authors Required to Register for the Meeting?
Someone (author or other representative) must register if you plan to present/defend your poster at the meeting. All abstract submitters will receive instructions with acceptance notices and information on meeting registration.
What if I Can’t Be There in Person?
We understand that not everybody can join us in Minneapolis. You can still have one of your colleagues hang your physical poster. However, you will not be able to answer live questions from the attendees.
